Cool Pic

Here is a pic from Saturday. It is in black and white so it almost looks like a bad day but was really sunny. I have the sunburn to prove it. This was shortly after the start before the wind took a hiatus.

Canyon Lake. When we bought Lucky it was on Lake Travis and we had it moved to Canyon Lake. Are you familiar with the lake Glenn?

Bill, my wife and I lived in San Antonio for 6 years and in fact I completed my undergraduate work at SWTSU in San Marcos. Had we stayed in Texas (I still question my sanity of moving back to the Midwest??!!) we would have had a boat on Canyon Lake and probably would have gotten to know you and your wife; nice lake actually. Our Son lives in Austin and we are quite familiar with Lake Travis. We even had considered relocating to Austin just last year and have a boat on Lake Travis. Glad we didn't as it turned out considering this past summer was such a draught and I saw pictures of a lot of boats that were lying (or is it laying?) on their sides. We decided about a year ago to move to North Carolina. Our home port is New Bern, which is just a hop skip and jump to the ICW.

I love the Carolina's. I have always enjoyed visiting Myrtle Beach and Charleston. At one point my company was talking about opening an office in Raleigh and I was ready to relocate but they picked Dallas instead. I retired from the Air Force in 2000 and my daughter did not want to move again so I stayed here. No regrets. The summers can be brutal but winter is very mild.
Next time you are in Austin, let me know. We'd love to have you as our guest and go for a sail.
