Fuel filter relocation

Hello, I have a question about relocating my primary fuel filters on my 1995 Catalina 36MKII with Universal M35.

Currently my setup is two primart FF in the under the aft birth.  There was in issue in the last survey with FF with plastic bowls in engine compartment don't comply with modern fire resistant regulations.  As this setup was modified from original, there is no grandfathering and insurance is demanding it be replaced with metal bowls or relocated.

Current FF are Racor 220 series - can't find metal bowls for this type. Lot's of 230 series metal bowls, just not the 220.

So I am considering changing the location of the FF to Starboard side of engine compartment above in an elevated position with Racor turbine type for easier filter changes.

Has anyone out there done this?

Any other suggestions about placement?

Thanks

I relocated my to that area.  I will get pictures next time I'm on the boat.

Thanks Bob, would love to see that pic!

this is one pic i lifted from an earlier post on this subject and would have been perfect as the poster used to have his boat at my marina (sadly he doesn't seem to be a member anymore).

That is the area where I mounted mine.  I actually found a picture of mine from a earlier posting.  Not the best picture of the filter, but you can see where it is mounted.
