I have a 2002 MK2 36' with Schafer in mast furling. I am looking for the line size/type and length if anyone knows for the main sail furling line that winds around the in mast screw. I am thinking 5/16 low stretch Dacron
I also need the length , size and type for the Jib Furling line as well if possible.<br />

FYI, there is a list of running rigging specs in the original Catalina 36 MKII manual, which may be available in the Resources section of this site. (my copy is on the boat)
I've used 5/16 line 100 feet New England Ropes Sta-set braid for the Jib furling line. Though a bit thin and harder to grip at times, it fits well on the furler drum, which was an issue with larger diameter line.
My main sail furling line is Marlow Doublebraid 8MM (5/16) 50 feet. This diameter line runs well through the furling screw and line cleat. That said, any pressure or resistance on the mainsail, will require a good heave to complete a furl.
Please double check these specs with your original lines or alternate resources.
