One catastrophe to another... So my scupper drain through hull broke off while sailing in SF bay yesterday, causing the bilge to overflow into the salon while on a port tack. While I was inside the aft starboard lazarette trying to sort out my through hull nightmare I spotted a large crack where the rudder assembly meets the bottom of the deck. Is this a common issue? The boat is relatively new to me, just purchased in Dec. and naturally this was not spotted on the survey. Looks pretty serious to me, has anyone else had to deal with this? Link to photo attached:

Thanks for the reply Perseid, your .pdf file is very helpful! I notice it has been a couple of years no since you did the repair, how has it held up? Did you end up strengthening with fiberglass as well or was the epoxy glue job sufficient?
