I am in the process of sanding down the bottom of the boat for applying Interprotect barrier coat and new anti-fouling paint.
During the sanding I uncovered what appears to be some cracks in the fairing compound over the keel. See picture below.
I don't know if I should be doing something about these before putting the barrier coat on. I was considering doing nothing as the Interprotect should cover all these spots and provide protection.
Has anybody encountered this situation before and what did you do?

Hello John, I had a similar issue last spring. The team at our marina recommended sanding out the crazing on the keel before the barrier coat was applied. They did a great job. Boat was super buoyant after removing years of antifouling paint. Good luck with your project.
