Locating pad-eyes for jack lines & cockpit harness points

Hi

I am in the process of trying to figure out where exactly I should put the pad-eyes at stern of the boat for my jack lines. They are Wichard Lyf'Safe lines which recommends running the stern through a pad-eye and then back toward the bow for locking with the adjuster.   I am considering placing the pad-eyes in the following locations (pictures attached)

  • Port side - near the propane locker lid above the lazerette lid
  • Starboard side - as far forward as I can reach from the rear locker

Has anybody else installed pad-eyes for jack lines in these positions?  Or perhaps other spots.  I would appreciate any advise and pictures of their installations.

As well, I want to have something in the cockpit for attaching harnesses to before leaving the companionway.  From what I have been able to research it sounds like putting U bolts on both sides of the bottom of the companionway besides the stairs fastening points it best.  And then another at stern near the helm.  I don't know if best at bottom of the sloped footwells at each side of the cockpit.   Again any advise and pictures on how others have created secure points for attaching harnesses for while in the cockpit would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

On our boat, I attach the jacklines (which have a loop at each end) onto the stanchion base of the aft pulpit.
