Boom vang

can some recommend a boom vang for my mk 1. It came without reefing or a vang or Cunningham.  I have the line to install the reefing but don't have a clue on what to do for the vang  (I did notice the rope one in the classifieds). Thinking more along lines of a rigid one.   Something for a future boats show purchase. I'm not interested in racing if that makes a difference

thanks.

Les,
This is an easy one.  Give a call to Garhauer Marine.  They supplied most of the hardware for our boats.  They are intimately familiar with Catalinas.  Tell them what boat you have, and they will ship you a rigid (adjustable) vang.  Very reasonably priced, extremely well made, and customer support most other companies dream of.  After installed, you can do away with the topping lift and the associated sail chafe.  Hope this helps.
