Swim ladder standoffs

does anybody know the diameter of the standoffs on the swim ladder? I'm not at the boat and I'd like to buy crutch tips to use next time. I thought I had some at home, so I didn't measure.

But note, I have an MKI. Not sure if they changed the ladder. Might want to hear from an MKII owner to be certain.

Had that question myself once.  I just bought both available sizes and "donated" the rubber feet that were... too large if I remember correctly.  They were only a couple bucks.  If I had to guess repeat guess, 1" ok, 1.5", too large.

I bought mine at Home Depot - 1" diameter - same as the pulpit pipes. These are standard pipe diameters used on most boats. They become dry and broken in a few years. I do not know of any that will last much more than that. Yes, mine is MKII 1999. The end of the pipe has a cap welded on so that the end of the pipe does not cut into the rubber.

Wally,
I don't know if your ladder standoffs have an end cap welded on, but if they are straight pipe, with no end cap, I found that the ladder standoffs would cut into the rubber crutch tips in a very short time.  To prevent that, I jammed pieces of dowel into the standoffs (I think I used 7/8"?), and cut them off flush.  With the increased surface area, the crutch tips lasted longer.  Can't do anything about the UV degradation, but at least the ladder standoffs didn't cut through the crutch tips and ding the gelcoat.  Just a thought.

Applies to lots of projects:  KEEP receipt!!! Buy one set of "target size", aka "I think this is the size".  Then buy number of parts two sizes up and two sizes down.  Then take back what u don't use.  (Sorry, members that work for big box chains).

Thanks all. My first intuition, before I wrote the post, was 7/8, so I bought a set. After reading the replies, I bought another set, 1". I suspect I'll be returning the 7/8.

I have a 1984 Mark I and it has 1" inch standoffs.  They are readily available, but I find that the pipe will cut thru the rubber faster than the UV degradations.  You can solve this problem by putting US Quarters in the rubber tips prior to installing.  If using money is not your thing, you can use 1" inch stainless washers, just make sure you use the better grade of Stainless Steel ( 316 not 18-8 ).  This will resist rust much better, even in Fresh Water.
