Like most of you, I love my C36.  I do as much of the work to maintain it myself as I can for a couple of reasons, first to keep my costs down and secondly to learn and know as much about my boat as possible. 

In that spirit I have learned to fabricate new large fixed port lights (smoked lenses), replacement opening port light lenses (Lewmar,  sorry haven't done Bomars yet) and opening hatch lenses (Lewmar again).  Then there was the Oberdorfer water pump changeover from Sherwood, I located a vendor that would sell us these pumps for a great price, about this time Oberdorfer released a new pump that is a bolt on for our boats....yeah!!  I even bought a commercial sewing machine and have fabricated some covers and repaired others. My background is in aviation, both as an airframe and power plant mechanic with inspection authorization and professional pilot, last position was Airbus captain for an international airline.
