We purchased our Catalina last year and want to clean all the window shades. Not wanting to learn the hardway.... are there any recommendations regarding cleaning?
ie, wand wash, dry cleaning, etc.

Cleaned mine by hand with some gentle soap and eucalyptus oil (helps prevent mold and smells good). This got all the mould off, and made them like new.

When we bought our boat the shades had stains and some mold. We tried a short soak in woolite then clean water. THe result was that it washed the stiffness out of them and they now droop a bit when in the closed position.

ours looked so bad when we bought our boat we thought we would have to replace. Instead, we took them home, soaked in the bathtub in cold water with detergent for an hour , then scrubbed stains with a soft brush and spray bleach. Dry under the sun. Look good as new, no droops, either.
