Fuel tank check valve

On my C36 TM i have trouble when filling the fuel tank as it does not accept much flow so it takes forever to fill. It would seem that the vent is the issue. I found a check valve in the vent line on the port side in the aft berth with what looks like a part number "1675". The ball does seem to stick a little but i am having trouble finding a replacement part. Any help?

Sorry but there should NEVER, EVER be a check valve on a fuel tank vent line. You don't need a part number you need to remove it.. Best to replace the entire hose and make sure you have no low spots as they will trap diesel and "burp" when you're filling the tank. House should run straight to the hull vent with no low spots to trap fuel.

Check valves on fuel vents, or valves can cause the tank to "implode" when the temp drops. I have seen this before and it is BAD NEWS. The boat it happened on was totaled due to diesel stench absorbed into the wood and every piece of fabric or absorbent material on-board. Owner thought he was doing a good thing and preventing "tank condensation"....

The problem with the vent hose is if there is any sag in the hose fuel can block the venting. I jammed an empty beer can under middle of the hose run, signed and dated it for future owners, and it solved the problem completely.

Fuel in the vent line will not obstruct the vent. If there is fuel in the line when filling it will just get pushed out the vent line and overboard. If there is fuel in the line as the fuel is being consumed it will be drawn back into the tank. I agree low points are not advisable but, will add no appreciable restriction.
