I need a section of rub rail

I'm looking for a short section of rub rail 5' to 6' long. I don't need the rubber insert just the metal rail. Slowdance got a little banged up in a big Lake Michigan blow last October.

Catalina Direct sells the extrusions for $26 for a 6' piece wide, $22 for narrow, comes in two widths. Check their website. They are a great source for lots of Catalina stuff. So is the factory.

Also in order for members to provide better help it would be great if you could take a second and fill out an auto-signature in the UserCP section showing your boat info (Mark, keel, engine, mast, etc.) and location.

Just did mine last weekend. Ordered form Catalina Direct. Extrusion came in a PVC tube and it only took a few days shipping from Ca. to Il. A word of advice, the rail is held on with sheet metal screws at about 5" on center and through bolted every 16". the through bolts can be tricky to access, mine were behind the galley cabinet and the forward cabinet on the port side in the salon.I replaced my vinyl rub rail all the way around the boat, put the whole thing in a large cooler and very hot water to soften the material. You may even want to use a heat gun carefully. The old rubber came out very easily but if you are trying to reuse it may difficult.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the info on ordering direct. I didn't check Catalina's site because I guess I thought I'd have to order the whole length. Price seems very reasonable also. Thanks for the 'heads up' on the fasteners also....my damaged rub rail is starboard side - midships. Wish me luck.

Look for another question about replacing fresh water hoses.

Removed rub rail today, came off very easy. Mark absolutely correct about through bolts, but they weren't a problem either. Had to remove the trim above starboard cabinets , a bit of a chore but no problems. Just waiting for rub rail fron Catalina Direct.
