MK I Pedestal Replacement

I have been lamenting my un-techie cockpit as compared to the newer boats as I mentioned in a previous thread. This week at the Annapolis show, I think I found the answer. The new Edson Vision series pedestal is their suggested replacement for our older pedestals. The Edson Vision is now standard in the new models like the 385. A few benefits.....Requires no drilling - bolt holes match, ability to mount a 4000 autopilot, includes integral pedestal guard, room for flush-mount compass, room for radar/GPS display without an extra "pod" and, per the Edson guy, a TON of space to run all the wires and cables. This looks like the solution, what do you all think?

I forgot to mention that on the right side it has the new combo forward/reverse lever which controls both gearing and throttle in one lever, just like the new models.:)

Not bad looking but the issues I see for my situation is that I'd loose my cockpit table and possibly my drink/bino holder currently mounted to the binnicle guard. The drink/bino holder might still fit but it looks like I'd loose the mounting for the table.

Also, with the smaller foot print, it seems it would uncover the holes through the deck where the autopilot wiring is routed.
