Having a hard time finding these online...
Does anyone know who makes the overhead dual light fixture for the Galley(over the sink) and port side salon (over the table) locations? These are the chrome looking fixtures that have two spot lights in each of them.
Have you replaced/upgraded it? With what?
Thanks in advance.

Kent at Catalina answered my question. (in about 30 minutes from sending him an email - great service!)
Here is his reply if anyone is looking...

Has anyone used an LED Alternative?

I got 36 LED bulbs for both of the double spots in the cabin, the ones over sink are bright white, the ones over the table are the warm white. Got them off eBay for about $15 a pair from the far east, shipping in. Also got a bunch for the single spots throughout the boat, some 24 LED some 36. I am amazed at what people are paying for these locally.
Bud, can you recall the web site where you ordered those LEDs? My wife and I were at the Annapolis Sailboat Show and Defender was selling them at a discounted price but most ran about $20 each.

I just ordered them from vendors on eBay. Whoever was cheapest with a good rating. I've bought a pile of LEDs that way and never had a problem with any of them. The new warm white ones are really good, slightly yellow cast to the light but really getting close to incandescent lighting for soft whites, perfect over the dining table.
I also got LEDs for the AquaSignal Series 25 navigation lights, the dimpled festoon bulbs, from a guy in BC. The bow light is split with red and green LEDs on the correct sides. Bright white LEDs won't work correctly behind the coloured lens. These are more expensive, about $25 each shipped, but certainly worth it, they draw 70 milliamps each versus almost 2 amps for the stock ones. They are extremely bright. The guy selling them is Dave Bristow, he goes by Boaterbits on eBay.
I have just replaced 8 bulbs in my C36 with LED bulbs. After looking at a number of alternatives, I ended up ordering from www.marinebeam.com. They have an excellent and very educational website, which explains pretty graphically why their prices are what they are, and why to avoid the cheapo imitations from China. They also responded immediately to email questions I posed. Highly recommended.

I purchased an Imtra LED bulb from Defender as a test in the overhead light fixture, and the brightness and color temperature match the incandescent bulb in the other half of the fixture quite well. I am going to replace several more bulbs with the Imtra bulbs this winter.
The only thing I don't like about the LED bulbs is they can't match the full spectrum color rendition of an incandescent light. I will probably leave one incandescent in each overhead fixture just to get better color balance.
OK, I am a bit of a snob about it. Anyway, I do recommend the Imtra bulb.
Thanks for the tip on the light fixtures. I need to replace a reading light, and I was wondering where to buy them.

Yeah, restarting this thread....
Anybody have any luck in either a) cleaning the corrosion of the existing fixture, or b) a suitable replacement? Marinebeam had something close (rectangular), but the bezel plate was too small to fit over the hole in the headliner properly.
We are all LED on Jubilee at this point. I replaced the three old fluorescent fixtures as well with LED, much better light, and I don't have to yell at slaggardly crew who leave the lights on when they are not using them!!

My original 2 light fixtures over the main Salon/dining area, have corrosion on them. What have been the best replacements? I assume there is no direct replacement using the same mounting holes?
