I recently inherited this 105" pole. Now I am not sure if it is a whisker pole or spinnaker pole.
Can anyone direct me on this.
I also do not have anyway of attaching it to the mast. I have seen the tracks that are installed on the front of the mast. Is there any other way that it can be attached to the mast - such as a ring? How is yours, do you have an image of it that you can post.
Thanks for the help.

Haro;
Looks like you have a spinnaker pole there but you should be able to use effectively for a wisker pole providing it is long enough for the foot of your jib. Ronstan makes several pieces of hardware that will enable you to use it. A simple ring on the mast is all that is usually needed but a ring on a sliding track will provided greater flexibility with respect to adjustments. You'll find the pole will be a great asset to your down wind sailing. You'll just have to measure it and see how it works with your particular jib.The pole (or pipe) is usually the cheapest part. It is the end fittings that are unreasonably expensive.

Haro, This is definitely a Spinnaker Pole, However, it is not a Spinn. Pole for a Catalina 36. It is for a much smaller Boat. A Catalina 36 Spinn. Pole would be appr. 172" inches ( 14.33" feet ). It probably won't work very well as a Whisker Pole, since it is so short.
