Hi all,
I know that I should know this, but I am not near the boat right now. Are our stanchions 1" in diameter? I'm pretty sure that they are. I need to know because I am considering ordering a set of Garhauer kayak racks that attach to the stanchions.
Does anybody here use these racks? If so, are you happy with them?

Don't have the racks so can't comment on that.
I'm sure Mark or Guido at Garharuer know what size you need. They are one of Catalina's suppliers. Give them a call.

Our stanchions are 1", and I love the Garhauer kayak racks. They attach to the base of the stanchions with two bolts each, and work very well. They make it very easy to launch and retrieve a kayak. The only downside I can think of is that when you are on a tack opposite of the kayak, and pounding into heavy seas, the waves pound up into the kayak. I found that if the weather is going to be rough, I move the kayak inside the lifelines for that day. Hope this helps.
