Winterizing and the galley sink drain clogged. Decided to take it apart and run a fish tape down the hose to clear the blockage but needed to disassemble the drains first. The double sink has two Forespar plastic drain fittings that fit onto the threaded drain from each sink. Each fitting turns 90 degrees becoming a hose barb. It attaches to a short piece of 1" hose and then into a T -barb before running down to the through hull.
All looked very simple as I was removing the hose but I broke the very thin plastic collar on the L fitting that fits inside the threaded section of the sink drain. West Marine sells the parts for $7.99 but it is so weak that if you wrestle with the hose at all, the fitting will break.
Anybody come up with a better part or solution?

Our sink drains looked terrible when we bought the boat so we replaced the whole works with a kit from Catalina Direct, they sell the whole shebang. Not sure if they would sell just the fittings. They seem to be pretty sturdy, but are still just plastic.
I usually find with water and waste hoses I end up cutting them off rather than breaking the fittings trying to fight with the hose. The hose is cheaper, easier to replace and more readily available than the fittings are.
Bud....
That sounds like a good idea going forward. I'm sort of committed now but will check out Catalina Direct.
Many Thanks.....
