Raw water pump pipe fittings

I have the Sherwood G908 raw water pump and a brand new spare pump, I want to get the fittings for the spare pump. If I broke a fitting changing them from one pump to another it would make having a spare pump kind of useless. This is an M35A and it has a dog's breakfast of fittings on the pump which I believe are standard from the factory, at least every picture of an M35A I've seen has had them.

There are 1/2" pipe thread ports on the pump.

The intake has a 1/2" nipple screwed into the pump, then a 1/2 to 3/4" reducer, then what looks like it might be a 3/4" full flow barb type fitting screwed into the 3/4" side of the reducer.

My intake hose is not marked at all nor can I find a size on the raw water strainer. Since the reducer is 3/4" on that side I am suspecting it is 3/4" ID hose. Measuring it after it's been shoved on a coupler is fairly useless and I don't want to cut it to get a fresh end to measure. The PDF I have from Catalina says that the thru hull for the engine intake is 1" in which case I have no idea what the fitting is that is screwed into the end of the 1/2" to 3/4" reducer. Anybody know if the hose on the inlet side is 3/4" or 1" ID?

The output side has a 90 degree 1/2" pipe to a hose barb for a 5/8" hose, but it might actually be just a 1/2" hose barb since the hose comes on and off way too easily. Anybody have any idea where I might find that 90 degree 1/2" pipe to 5/8" hose fittings? Redden and Hamilton carry this stuff in bronze but I couldn't find any 90s at either place.

Does anyone know for sure what these fittings are made of? I am suspecting they are bronze but perhaps they are brass or maybe even galvanized? What would the best material be, I suspect bronze? I can't find these fittings in brass or bronze up here at all, galvanized might work for emergency but I doubt it would stand up very long in salt water.

If no one has any idea on this I'll have to try the trusty parts people at Catalina and hope for the best.

Bud,

You might try looking at www.fastfittings.com
Click on "brass fittings" then follow a link to hose barb fittings

Stephen, thanks for the link. I checked them out and like the others, they have a few things but not exactly what is there now. I cannot find close nipples in bronze anywhere, only in brass. Seems odd.
