Has anyone had to deal with this? I'm guessing that I will have to lift the engine to remove the pan because the dipstick tube is connected to it, I'm not entirely sure if I can just remove the pan and slide it out?
It's a pretty hefty leak, sitting unused over the winter it dropped a quart.

I'm not sure which engine you have, but I had a M25 in the Cat 30 I owned and the dipstick tube has a steel tube with a seam. When I had noticed it the bilge was filled with oil and I was anchored off Vinalhaven Is. On the 30 there were two screws that bolted the dipstick to the oil pan. You should be able to remove those and the dipstick tube. I wrapped it with fiberglass and epoxy and never had an issue again.
On the 30 one bolt was easy, but the other because of the engines position under the galley sink and the bilge the only way you could turn it was approximately a 1/32" turn and re grip the head. Took about 3 hours as I recall.

M25XP is the engine, I will have to see if that is the case. Obviously, it's a little messy down there, and not such an easy place to look in to.

Bad design on the dipstick tube. It should continue down with an angle towards the bottom of the pan. Then a Mityvac could remove ALL the oil, instead of 1/2 of it.
