No hot water pressure in the head

OK I just sterilized the water tanks.  Followed the ink I received from ROAM a few days ago. Finished up and I now have no hot water pressure in the head sink faucet.  The galley sink faucet works fine.  Although the water is not as hot as usual.  Any suggestions? Thanks, Bill ps all worked fine until I attempted the process

Bill, I'm not quite understanding your problem as described. How is the hot water pressure at the galley sink  and the cockpit shower head ? If the pressure is adequate at those faucets, then the problem is between the hot water heater and the head sink. Try removing the hose from the head sink and see what the water pressure looks like at that point. You might just have a blocked or corroded faucet or valve.
BTW What is ROAM ?

Thanks but the problem seems to have resolved itself overnight.  Working well.  Hopefully th e gremlin doesn’t reappear.  Maybe there was air in the line?  ROAM is the boat name of the sailor, Greg, who sent me a passage from the manual regarding the sterilization of our water tanks.  Thanks Bill, Bill

I don't know if this is the problem you experienced, but it's happened to me.  In Peggy's book, the instructions that you spoke of (bleach shock followed by fresh rinsing) come with the caveat to remove any filters or strainers in the system prior to shocking.  I forgot to pull the pump pre-filter once, and found it completely clogged within a minute of emptying the shock stage with some type of sediment. I don't to believe that this was once living creatures, but I strongly suspect they were floating around my tank having a party shortly before pouring in the bleach solution (yuck!).  This sediment was thick and gummy (and smelled).  If you've got any sharp bends or other impediments in your lines, it may even clog them up.  That may also explain why it flushed through eventually, like a blood clot.

Hi John-
I just discovered what appears to be a plastic bowl filter on our freshwater system pump. It was buried below some aiconditioning duct work and very much invisible. I need to remove the duct work to get it. Out of curiousity, was yours a screen mesh or an actual filter? Was it It accessable to clean? It looks lilke the plastic bowl on ours might unscrew (hopefully). Our overall water pressure appears to have declined this past year, and I may have found the culprit.

What you are describing is the pump pre-filter.  It's just a clear bulb with a simple mesh strainer, probably similar to the Jabsco Pumpguard you can find in any marine store for about $25.  It doesn't do anything for water quality, just protects the pump from small particles and rocks.  I also had a AC unit installed on top of mine by the PO, but I can reach around the ductwork and unscrew the top. Depending on the model, perhaps the bottom rotates.  Basically, the entire body of the half that is not connected to the tubing rotates counterclockwise, and inside is a cylindrical mesh strainer, either plastic or stainless. Re-connecting it blind will be a challenge, so remember what you did.  BTW: Cut all the fresh water off at the inlet manifold or you'll drain a tank into the bilge.  The first time I shock treated the system with chlorine, I gathered all the stuff into this strainer and had no water pressure.  Now I clean it out annually.  The stuff also collects on the mesh aerators at the taps, but those unscrew just like a home faucet.  I remove those before flushing as well.
