We recently purchased a 1989 C36 and one of the several to-do items is figuring out what hatch cover should be over the opening beneath the chart table shown in the photo. I don't see anything on Catalina direct. Any ideas what this cover might have looked like? Presumably I will have to fabricate something? Any advice appreciated.
That is a custom access hole made by the PO. Will require a custom cover. I used that space (accessed via the bottom drawer on the forward side) to pile in a bunch of recycled lead to help fix our lean-to-port. K.

Michael, We see that quite often as owners cut an access hole to tighten up the chair should the wood screws start to pull out. A good flat panel door is available from almost any marine supplier. You might have to modify to cut the cut out to accommodate the plate. Such as the
