Has anyone here installed a Lavac head in their Mark I, Catalina 36? I have a choice between rebuilding a cheaper model Jabsco head or replacing it with something else. The Admiral likes the idea of the Lavac, but I don't see any spaces large enough to mount the exterior pump without it being in the way. I tried the Search function but had no luck, so I am beginning to think nobody has tried to install one of these in a Catalina 36.
Can it be done? If so, any suggestions? If not, is there a good quality head that can be installed as a direct replacement for the old Jabsco? Preferably something short of more electric goodies draining the boats batteries, but if you are going to suggest an electric head, please suggest which one and tell me why that particular model. Thanks!

Bill,
Without a doubt I would suggest replacing the OEM head with a Raritan PhII. It's been rated very highly by Practical Sailor, it definitely fits, and is MUCH more dependable.
