Fresh tabs in fuel

Hi Little Miss Magic 2005 MKII
One of the crew while adding fresh tabs into the water system put one down into the fuel tank. I can see, with a scope, the tab at the end of the fill hose just by the fuek tank. My question is
does the wood trim covering the fuel tank inside the aft cabin come off. No screws to see. I want to remove the hose and scrape out the power befor having the tank drained and cleaned.
Thanking You Ray Kalinsky

On my 2003 MkII, you can access the top of the fuel tank through a twist-lock circular access panel under the port-side cockpit seat. Let me know if you need more info or can't find it. This may be all you need.

It sounds like you have an opportunity to extract the tab if it is still residing in the hose just prior to the fuel tank. It shouldn't be too difficult. See an article in our C36IA Technical - Maintenance library called "Removing the Fuel Tank (C36 Mk II)" by Bud Street, which has photos and explanations on how to gain access to the tank.

On my boat, the frame for the small door to the lazarette must be removed before the aft cabin portside side-panel can be removed. Four screws on the door frame; then two (I believe) on the side panel. Aft cabin mattress must be out of the way.

Sparked my curiosity…what could it do to the fuel/engine? I realize if it is in the hose and you can grab it you should.

Understanding that it shouldn’t be there in the first place, would something of this nature demand draining and cleaning of the fuel tank given the filter would grab the particles that didn’t dissolve? What would the components of this tablet do if you were to make an effort to keep the tank full?

I don't know enough about the chemistry of this and it is more curiosity on my side. I could understand if water was put into the fuel tank the need to drain and clean the tank.

I would be cautious too, but just curious.

Thanks to all Had tank drained and hose cleaned out ready to go racing. the pill is like sugar in the FUEL tank ,from the chemist at CAMCO, THE MANUFACTURE, if left in the tank it would would eventualy burn a hole in the piston.

Glad you solved the problem before running it through your engine.

And thanks for closing the loop with us.
