Hi all,
My wife and I just completed the replacement of the two stbd fixed cabin windows on our 2000 36 MKII. The originals crazed VERY badly on that side. While it was a challenging job, it's not beyond a reasonably competent owner.
First of all, I want to acknowledge the invaluable assistance of Mark Kozy for both cutting my new windows and providing support all through the project. The windows fit perfectly! He can be reached at iamav@aol.com
I used a fish fillet knife to cut the old ones loose. It ended up bent like a banana, but didn't break. We worked from both sides until we got an opening and then I inserted the fillet knife from the outside and finished the cutting.
A combination of paint scrapers and plastic scrapers Mark provided removed most of the old caulk, (Dow 795-black). This left some remainder that I got off easily with a brass brush chucked into a drill. I used a dust mask for this as it was a bit dusty.
I decided to try EMT conduit clamped onto the stanchions as blocking while the windows "cured". I removed the clamp system on day 3.
It it came out very well. Here's a couple of pics. I didn't try to document the whole thing as Mark's photos are stellar!

Nice job! I just replaced a couple of them on my mk1.5, not a fun job. Yours look good as new!

Wally did a great job!
One correction I would make to his original post above is the link he provided. The link should be:
