Engine in line raw water strainer

I have hull number 954, a 1989 MK I. The in line engine raw water strainer has cracked. It looks like Raritan In-line strainer # 550379 Defender 1/2 inch female both ends. The existing strainer has no part number. Does anyone know for sure what is the replacement part ?

Thank you

Correction- It’s part number #5503379 that looks like a match

And my son just told me that this Raritan part is for a toilet. !   So any help on the engine strainer will be greatly appreciated.

Don't think they are particularly model or engine specific.  Our boat came with a Groco strainer, which is available from Defender for around $130

We had the same problem when we purchased our 1993 Mk 1.5.  The plastic, inline, strainer had cracked at the threads and was slowly leacking into the bilge.  We switched to a bronze, bulkhead mounted, Grorco strainer like this:  https://www.defender.com/product.jsp?name=groco-arg-s-series-raw-water-strainer&path=-1|51|2234255|2234257&id=3353483

Thank you Matthew and Jim. Is it a 3/4 size and which one do you recommend?

Thanks !

Bruce,

I have one of these in my spare parts. I will need to look for it, but if you are interested looking at the Defender price I can let you have for $50 plus shipping. It is a Groco
