My fresh water was starting to smell a bit sulphurish, especially the hot water. Even after pumping out the tanks and flushing the system, it was still there. I didn't really want to go down the path of using bleach or vinegar, with their associated flushing out problems.
Instead, I recently heard of this product: Waterpure. I am work at the moment, so can't remember whether it is a 500ml or 1 litre bottle. But you only need a maximum of 40 ml per 100 litres water. About 30 bucks a bottle. The best thing about it? You don't have to flush your tanks afterwards. Syringe the small amount into your tank, leave it for an hour, turn your taps on for a couple of minutes to coat the lines and hot water tank, then leave it for 24 hours. After that, there is no smell whatsoever. No tank flushing required
Active ingredients are hydrogen peroxide and silver, claimed to be quite safe to ingest in these concentrations.

And, no, I have nothing to do with the company; just very impressed

Sounds like its time to replace the anode in the hot water tank. Its usually located out of the top or towards the top of the hot water tank. Looks like a 1" hex plug. When you pull it out it will look like a corroded rod connected to it and smells strongly of sulfur. You can replace it or just cut off the corroded piece and put the plug back in. probably not a good idea in salt water, I,m in fresh water. Had the same problem at home after the heater was only a year old did the same thing and the heater has lasted 12 years. (Note our local water is high in limestone and other minerals)
Hope this helps.

Today I was looking at the documentation that came with our Seaward hot water heater and there was no zinc shown on the parts breakdown drawing.
