I'm planning to install a dripless stuffing box It requires a vent tube to be routed above the water line to insure that the stuffing box is full of water for cool operation. I'd like to keep the vent tube in the center of the boat so not impacted when heeling.. I'd appreciate any input on a vent tube routing/

Thx for the picture. After talking to the manufacture, I was told that the tube could have ups and downs in it and it was OK to route anywhere as long as the end was comfortably above the water line and near the center of the boat. So I drilled one hole from the shaft seal area through the wood divider towards the center water tank and then routed the vent tube over the top of the center water tank and then up to the top of the port side stern storage door (near the stern shower hose). I am in the upper midwest, so I also made a note to blow out the hose from the vent end prior to decommissioning each winter to make sure there was no water laying in a low portion of the hose that would freeze and break the hose.
