AC outlet in aft cabin

I was just looking through the owner's manual for the MK1.5 model that I have (thanks Mark Holzmann!), and I noticed on the electrical schematic that it shows an AC outlet in the aft cabin.  My 1993 does not have an outlet back there, and it has always bothered me.  I have often wondered if the previous owner sacrificed the AC outlet to install the AutoMAC alternator regulator (pictured), which has all of the wiring contained in a box right behind the unit that protrudes into the aft cabin.  Can anyone tell me where the AC outlet is in the aft cabin of their MK1.5 or even the MKII?  I would like to put it back where it belongs.

Thanks!

I'm not sure your boat is a MK1.5 that might make the real difference? On the MK1.5 it is right in the corner, just behind the bulkhead, and just above the shelf in the aft cabin.

Hi, you do not have a mark one and a half. The mark one and a half does not have a door to the aft cabin it has a sliding privacy curtain. Also, the chair for the NAV table backs onto the aft cabin. It isn't a side entry. So, you have a Mk II unless someone did a whole lot of reconfiguring of the boat. I do have a 1993 Mk 1.5. The AC outlet in the aft cabin is immediately to the left when you enter and right up against the the port side wall see the picture below.

I respectfully disagree.  My understanding Of "MK1.5" is the model years 1992-1994, where the cockpit stayed the same size as the MK1, but got a walk-thru transom and suger scoop stern, fixed Lewmar portlights in the hull, the aft cabin got a door, and the nav table turned 90 degrees.  These changes were gradual over those 3 model years.  For example, some 1992 models didn't have the fixed Lewmar portlights in the hull.  True MKII's didn't start until model year 1995, and are very different.  The cockpit of a MKII cannot be mistaken for a MKI, as it is significantly wider.  I absoutely do not have a MKII.

Yes, you absolutely do have a mark 1.5. they gradually added modifications from 91 through 95 until the new mk. 2 hull was produced. our hull number 1120 was an early 1991 version that did not have the new door to the AFT cabin that you have. I am not sure that they always had the AC vents installed.

Don,
The picture that Bob has shown is approximately where the outlet is in my MKl.V (1990) I do not have the the wood lathes as shown in his pic. The area marked in your response pic. woulld be the approximate area, but I would think it would have to be lower otherwise the box for the recepticle would be sticking out the bulkhead on the shelf above your electrical panel. Note that looking at the schematic for MKll it does show that the outlet is located by the chart table, not the aft cabin.  Your 1993 sure appears to have many of the features of a MKll and I suspect as Catalina transitioned through the changes there were subtle differences.
