I just looked at the default limits for file and image attachments, and they were pretty small. I have set them to 400k for images with no limits on dimensions, so it should be easier to meet the size requirements. I can increase further if it's a problem for people.
jsc4484,
On a temporary basis, the old forums can be reached at:
http://catalina36.org/6/ubb.x
They are currently in a "read-only" mode. We are in the process of turning them into searchable pdf's, and then they will be made part of the new website. Hope this helps.
What is the best and easiest way to get a picture small enough to use in our profiles so it shows who we are? It would be nice to have a face with the names on here.I can get it down to 1288 X 725 which is 203 kb, but then I start cutting out the faces

Randy,
Somewhere on the Microsoft website is a free download which allows you to resize pictures. All you do is right-click on the picture, and pick small, medium, or tiny. It saves the original and creates a copy with a much smaller byte size. I'll have to look around and find the link.
Image Resizer is only available for Windows XP. In the event you have Windows Vista, you can try the following link to another good/free resizing tool.
Allan,
I THINK this is how I did it:
User CP > Edit Signature > Signature Picture > Upload Signature Picture > Save Signature
My permissions say:
Can Upload Images for Signature: Yes
This forum is new enough that I don't know how/where permissions are stored. That might be a question for Alex. I would think that members should have that permission.
Thanks Tom and Allen for helping me out here, I have downloaded the program now I will see what happens, I might have to play around with the sizing option. But this is what makes a great site. People helping each other.
Thanks Randy

I am just about to purchase a Catalina 36 MK II, so I thought I would join this association. But, looking at the dates of this particular forum it seems that they are about two years old. Is this web site still viable? Hope so, it looks great from what I see. :)

Glenn, this is an active forum, with many active and helpful threads. Perhaps you were looking at the wrong date...it is the date in the upper LEFT hand corner of the post that states the date and time of posting.

Tom, how did you get the picture into you signature? I was trying in the "edit signature" and was not able.
It appears it is not an allowable function:
* Can Upload Images for Signature No

Just checking to see if my photo came out all right. It is of an osprey taking off from our mast, taken from our upstairs balcony.

Hi Allen,
We bought Sun Bound Hull #1256 last spring in Harve de Grace MD and moved her to Smith Mountain lake VA.
After a fun Summer and fall season we are ready to make repairs to our mainsail.
We also want to replace the hose between the head and the waste tank.
Can you reccommend any online vendors that sell repair products and marine head hose?
Thanks,
Rick
