Puck LED lights

While at SAM's today I saw a new (to me) puck LED light made by Sylvania.

A year or so back, we had a discussion on this board, about puck lights from SAM's and I went out and bought some to add to my boat. They work great for a light over the ice box and for a light in the bow hanging locker and I put one in the cockpit locker.

But these new lights are even better!

They are white painted metal with a strong magnet that you mount with the aid of peel off 3M adhesive. Magnetic attraction holds the light in place but that's not the best part.

The light uses a motion sensor to turn it on. Just a wave of your hand under the light and the light turns on, wave your hand again and the light dims down and a third wave and the light turns off! Forget to turn it off, it shuts off by itself after an hour!

I can't help but be reminded of the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (the 1951 version) I remember the scene where Klaatu, waves his hand over the controls of his ship to activate the different systems. These lights are just like that! Very Cool!

Runs off 3 AA batteries (included with purchase price) and it's so bright (30 times brighter than their old puck light) you can't comfortably look at the light directly.

They are called Sylvania "Golden Dragon" around $28.00 for a pack of 3.
