Cleaning the porthole folding shades

My lovely wife wants to know if anyone has any ideas on how to get the folding shades on the portholes and cabin windows cleaned? Ours are apparently in need of same, not that I noticed. But I am a man after all and that oversight is understandable.

From what I have heard, sending them to the dry cleaners may the best route. I haven't tried that though since I use the Peek-a-boo shutters.

I hadn't thought about this before, but I might be tempted to dye the accordian material some shade of blue to complement the settee cushions. That should help keep the dirt from showing.

I'll have to see if that passes muster with the admiral.
