Garhauer Radar Pole Mounting???

I have a 1989 Catalina 36 Mk I.  I just received  a new Garhauer radar pole mount and am trying to figure out my best mounting options locations etc..

Has anyone here installed one of these on this model Catalina 36?  If so, do you have pictures or can you maybe give me a brief synopsis of what you did?

Thank you.

Here's what we did to install our radar pole (Edson, but same idea).
The dilemma was to get the base sufficiently aftward so that the pole could be 1) braced against the upper rail of the stern pushpit, 2) be clear the bimini frame, and 3) be vertical.   What we did was fabricate a small stainless plate, which we bolted on to the top of the combing (if that's the correct word?) of the stern (lazarette) seat, so that the base of the pole could be cantilevered out, if you will, maybe six inches further aft (we had to glass in a small wedge underneath the plate to level it port-starboard.  See attached pictures.

I had a small scrap of curved 1" stainless tubing which I installed underneath the base of the pole (i.e., under the aft edge of the plate) with some rail base filttings, to function as a conduit for the cables (ignore the cables that appear in the first picture below; they are from the solar panels on the bimini and travel down along the backstay).  The tubing  also serves as additional support (but probably not needed, the plate is sufficiently strong alone).

While I as at it, I also moved the stern running light onto the pole, otherwise it would have been partly obstructed from some angles (and as a bonus, since I mounted it higher than the bimini, removed the nuisance of its stray light impairing night vision).

As you can see, I also added a fitting to hang a snatch block at the level of the bimini, which can be used as a hoist (particularly for a MOB situation); a second snatchblock at the base allows us to run a line to the primary winch if needed.

Thanks, I was considering something similar.  What thickness plate did you use?
Thank you.

Sorry, I don't recall the thickness off-hand.  I'll try to remember next time I'm on the boat (and take better pictures, as the ones in my prior post were enlarged and cropped from distance shots and thus a tad grainy).

The stainless plate is 1/4 inch.

Thank you Sir.  On a side note I'm noticing your fixed steps where I still have the folding swim ladder.  Care to enlighten me as to where to get those steps?

The step is part of a set-up with a swim platform that we added (cut off in the pictures).   Go to this thread and you will see a bunch of pictures I took of the installation, as well as contact information for the fabricator we used.  www.catalina36.org/comment/55328#comment-55328     They made the step as well.
BTW, one of the best "upgrades" we ever did on our boat.    Makes getting in and out of the water or a dingy so much easier, a bit of insurance for a MoB situation (the ladder, even if folded, can be deployed by a person in the water), and we also store the dingy on its side on the platform at times.
