Just finished replacing the exhaust hose and hump hose on my 1985 MK I. The bottom edge of the hump hose shows a small amount of fluid and bubble. The attached photo does not show the bubbles very well but you can see the small ring of fluid around the bottom (see arrow). The top of the hump hose is fine and have tightened & retightened the two hose clamps on the bottom.
Any suggestions on what is causing this and what to do about it?

I had a similar issue. You probably have some minor cracks in the top of tank or neck of the tank that hump hose connects to. Release the stainless steel clamps that hold the hose. wipe down suspected areas with acetone or similar, use sandpaper over suspected area. Tape above, below and around area to repair. Use JB weld HIGH HEAT epoxy to coat suspect area (do not JB weld hump hose to neck). Coat 2-3 times with JB weld. Worked for me.

I thought of taking off the metal connector coming off engine (think technical,term is "riser") but found that not necessary as the crack was where the tank top met the nipple that hump hose connects to. Used sand paper and razor to clean up surface and roughen up so JB weld would have some thing to adhere to. Wiped down with solvent (acetone). Taped off the suspect areas with frog tape / painters tape. Put down 2 - 3 coats of JB Weld HIGH HEAT. Any auto repair supply house, hardware store or farm supply house has small tubes of JB Weld for a few dollars. Good luck and let us know how you made out.
