Fuel pump filter

Has any one changed the filter in the fuel pump? If so did you have to bleed the system or could you just turn on the electric fuel pump till its full

I just changed the fine mesh filter in the canister fastened to the aft starboard side of the engine. I dont' know if I would have had to bleed the line, but I bled it as a matter of course, when I started the engine. Engine ran fine with no issues. Bleeding is very easy on my m35, so I do it any time I change any of the three filters.

If you have a Racor as the primary fuel filter and a secondary on the engine, do you really need the fuel pump filter? Why not remove it?

One shouldn't rely on the filter in the pump.
