Hello All,
I'm not sure where to try to find a replacement Bow Roller for my Mk 1 Catalina 36. Since I have managed to totally mangle my existing stainless steel bow roller bracket, I was also wondering if there are any suggestions as to an upgrade replacement bow roller for my boat.
On a long shot, what do you all think of the idea of straightening out a stainless steel bow roller frame that is bent to about 45 degrees"? Yes... it was pretty serious.
Lastly, any recommendations or central places to find used parts?
Thanks a bunch,

there's used stuff here http://www.usedboatequipment.com/
Catalina Direct has anchor rollers

Getting the same bolt pattern might be fun. Some have expressed concern about the really long ones, as it creates a much longer lever arm. I see a bunch at my marina and have never seen a bent one, but I'd want to make sure the bow structure is sized to accommodate the foreces before installing one longer than came with my boat.

I got the long roller from Catalina Direct, it is only 6" longer than the one that was on our boat but gave me sufficient clearance for the Manson 45 lb anchor to not touch the boat at the tip.

For the Mk II at least, it is an easy swap, all the bolt holes matched up, only had to drill 1 additional hole for a bolt the didn't exist on the original unit. Not sure if that would be true for a Mk I though. It has worked out well for us.
Bill,
I assume your '88 MkI has the same mickey-mouse bow rollers as my '87 MkI. On each side of the forestay is a small tab that supports the small plastic rollers. If you have bent one of the tabs, this might be a very good time to cut off the bent tab, flush with the deck, and replace the roller on that side with a real anchor roller. As others have suggested, Catalina Direct carries replacement anchor rollers that will actually support your anchor away from the hull. You will need to drill a few holes in the deck for the new roller, and you should also install a substantial backing plate under the deck. Hope this helps.

Thanks All for the help and responses. I checked out the recommendations and none of them fit my situation. I appreciate the responses though. I love this community where we can help each other out.
Anyway I found the Anchor Roller that matches the one I destroyed. It is from Windline Marine. I just have to validate that the holes match with the one I took off. From the pics on their web site, it looks identical but they don't provide measurements for the hole locations.
I will check with them tomorrow since today is Sunday. If you're interested, this looks like the Anchor Roller that was on my boat.

If anyone has any suggestions as to where I might pick this up a little less expensive, that would certainly be welcomed.
All the best, Thanks again for your inputs.

The one in your link is for a Bruce anchor; they are indeed expensive, which is why I've never purchased one for my Bruce. It sits just fine in the stock roller, but won't self launch.

Hey there,
I just almost bought a BRM-3 but decided it was too wide by a good inch.
However if you want to get one there's a guy in SF that was gonna sell me a new unused one for $110. Let me know if you want a hook up.
