Has anyone put a Boomkicker on a Cat 36? What model is best and does it have to be modified? I recently purchased a Catalina 36 and want to eliminate the topping lift. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tom

Most boats like ours (C36 & C34) use the Garhauer rigid vang to remove the topping lift. I could well be wrong but have felt the boomkicker is too light for our boats (don't know how many models they make).

I know what you mean Stu. Another problem I face is that the boom swivels on its horizontal axis and they recommend making it stationary do to rotational stress on the kickers fittings! So I would have to find a way to keep the boom in a fixed position. Weld? New goose neck? Where does it end! Tom

Yes, the OEM booms do swivel. Once you install the Garhauer rigid vang, that stops, simply because the way it attaches. Seems not so with a boomkicker.

Is there a particular model number Garhauer for the C36 Tall rig?
