I had someplace a document from Catalina that indicated the optimal locations for lifting the C36 and for placement of the stands once its on the hard; but I can't seem to find it anymore. Anyone have it to share (or know offhand where it is on the site)?
Thanks in advance!

I don't have it available at home, but the owners' manual for my '88 C36 includes a profile drawing showing lifting points for travelift haulout. There is no info about placement of stands that I recall. With sailboats in general, the common approach is to place stands where transverse bulkheads stiffen the hull. The yard where I store Undine uses 7 stands; one under the bow and three per side.

But I wonder, do the yards actually care about where the stands go? In my experience, they never know nor care about that. And personally, I don't think it matters.

I read a while back, cannot remember where...proper placement of jack stands are directly below bulkheads. Sounds like it would make sense, have not seen it on Catalinas, but have seen some vessels dimple at jack stands.

Probably it is proper; but I have seen a lot of boats put on the hard and never seen a yard look or care about where the stands are placed.
