Santa Cruz Island - Coches Preitos Anchorage

This photo was taken on July 30th during our annual 8 day trip around this beautiful island at our favorite cove on the back side of Santa Cruz Island, Channel Islands National Park, CA - the Coches Preitos Anchorage .

A huge south swell early in the week generated great surfing at one particularly remote spot.

Massive rollers came into some of our south facing anchorages generating some big-time surge.

Here's what my UK tapedrive main and A chute look like with the morning sun behind them. This ws a great 13 nm downwind passage from Mackinac Island to Duncan Bay, Michigan.
