Though I never need to loosen or adjust to sail I recently discovered that the topping lift is jammed. After taking the weight of the boom with a halyard I have put strain on the lift from both ends. No joy. I went aloft and the pulley seems fine with no fouling. I know that the lift was not in this condition when I bought the boat but at some point over the years something has gone amiss. Ideas?
