Tom Senator's starter battery upgrade

Hi all,

New C36 owner here, and need some additional info on the addition of a dedicated starter battery (ALA Tom Senator's upgrade on the association website). I basically want to do Tom's install, but the link provided on the association page takes you to his Shutterbug album, which doesn't have any detailed description of the upgrade. As this is my first time doing any major overhaul of an electric system, I was hoping someone might have a more detailed description of the job?

The 4D's in the new boat I just got are completely flat, so I figured now would be the time to to this upgrade, since I need to replace both batteries anyway.

Thanks for any help!

This subject has been discussed many times on the forums, indeed, during the past few months there were several threads on the subject (or closely related thereto)... If you haven't done so already, try using the search function in the forum (its on the dark blue bar towards the right) to find additional threads on this subject. While you are at it, you might want to add a "signature" that identifies you, your boat model and year, engine (and location), by clicking onto the "User CP" on the same bar above -- it help other members frame answers to the particular model of boat you have.

Thanks for the links, Matthew.

You should also seriously consider replacing those 4D heavyweights. You'll get more bang for your bucks with golf carts or even three Group 31s at 105-130 ah apiece. Lots litghter and easier to move and remove. Saves your back, too. :)
