High Flight at La Push, Washington

Look for the mast...the only visiting sailboat at La Push on August 24, 2010. Actually, the only visiting *boat* at La Push that day, I think.

We didn't even have the engine shut off and two young Coasties were walking down the dock to board us. They were very courteous. Of course we allowed them to board. All was OK. We later learned that they have a safety boarding quota that they must meet. Not many vessels come in to La Push, so any new vessel is "fresh meat". They were quite eager.

Bobcat in Vermillion

This is Bobcat #954, docked on the river in Vermillion, Ohio. This was our first "shake down" cruise since we bought the boat in April. This was a 4 1/2 hour sail, west of Cleveland.

John says, "Not quite hull speed, but a great day of sailing with a nice steady and consistent wind. Makes me feel good about moving her off Lake Mead to the ocean last year. Planning on maybe an Ensenada trip in July."
