Most of us like speed. Speed is relative. Most sailboat are fairly slow compared to power boats and cars. Still some try to stretch the limits.

Some have managed to go quite fast, Vendee Globe racers alone around the have managed speeds above 25 knots.

A french group has managed to best that speed by quite a bit.

Hydroptere is an hydrofoil type sailboat.
