Laura,
Thanks for the response. I did sign up for a three year membership. One of the reasons I purchased the 36 was because of the strong Association. Thanks.

Thanks, for your reminder, Sean. I will definitely renew.
By the way, I recently supplied two C36 owners awareness of the C36IA and touted the many benefits.
Anyway, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and all the volunteers of the IA for your work which is much appreciated.
Many thanks, Sean.

Sean:
We have enjoyed and benefited from the organization, but we sold the boat, purchased a C400 and joined the C-400 association and won't be renewing with C36IA. I passed the C36IA information to its current owners along with a recommendation to join.
Thanks for the Good work you do. The C400 Association has a lot to do and much to learn to be as successful as the C36IA.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the reply! Tom, the C36IA site has saved me thousands of $$ and most of the jobs I've done myself has been with great advice from folks like Tom, Bob, and yourself. I just saved over $3000.00 on engine work because of all the great info and tips from the site. I replaced the propeller shaft and installed a new strut myself because the folks on the site taught me how to.
Thanks again!

Sean -
Thank you so much for the trial membership you provided while I was
researching my purchase of an '85 C36.
While I turned out to not get the C36 (likely going for a similar age
Baltic 38 or Wauquiez Pretorien I found, pending negotiating the right
deal), I have to say your site is by far the best resource out there
I've seen for any make or model of boat. Congratulations on the great
work, and I'll certainly send any and all Catlina 36 (and other size
Catalina) owners I come across your way.
Regards,
Steve Nelson

I did tell the new owners about the advantages of being a C36IA member. Hopefully they will follow up.
Even though I have sold my C36 I plan on maintaining my membership.

Thanks for the reminder about my membership expiration. We have sold our C36 hull #1680 and will not be renewing.
We enjoyed being members of this group and found lots of information and support on the website.

Sean,
Thanks for the membership reminder. We aren't going anywhere and will stay on and renew our membership. The C36IA has been an excellent source of support and information in our journey and experiences with our C36. Hopefully, we have also been able to impart some of our experiences with the association that have been helpful to them as well.
Can't believe it has been 3 years already since we first launched our C36.
I'll log on to the site and renew in a week or so. Right now we are getting ready to move our boat north to our winter storage marina this weekend - too many things to plan for at the moment.
Thanks again and see you on the list.

We owners of Catalina 36s are very fortunate to have Tom Senator and Tom Sokoloski, two very knowledgeable men, who give up their valuable time and effort to help other sailors, most of whom they have never met. Tom Senator actually bought this tool himself and lends it out. I applaud our Commodore, Dennis Stovall, who saw the benefits of the STRUT PRO and reimbursed Tom Senator for the tool so now the 36 Association owns it.
For my own example; I was quoted $735 by the marina to replace the bearing. With the help of the Catalina 36 Association, changing the cutless bearing cost me $95. That included $40 for shipping the STRUT PRO both ways, and $55 for the bearing. I saved $640. This imaginary money was roughly half the cost of something very important; a Flex-O-Fold prop which is now on the boat (just like government; I saved half and then spent twice as much).

Thanks Tom! I am actually a former C36 owner and a former C36IA member. I'm now retired and boatless, I'm afraid. Our C36 on Lake Superior (and the Columbia 9.6 before that) was a great way to be together as a family as our two girls were growing up.
I was just checking in to your new website to see what was there. All the excellent information and the C36IA was one of the major reasons I bought the C36. Good job, guys!!

I borrowed Tom's Tool Box's optical tach awhile back and finally got around to using it this weekend to calibrate the tach on Continuum. As I suspected, our tach was reading about 350 revs low. I figured this was the case as I was never actually able to get above 2600 with wide open throttle. Now we’re calibrated to within 12 rpm!
The whole task took the admiral and I about 20 minutes and in our case, was well worth the time. I’d encourage everyone to give this very simple gizmo a try. We’d been running our engine at a much faster cruising speed than I would have preferred.
Thanks a bunch to Tom and the C36IA for loaning this and the other items in his handy toolbox to us C36 folks. Membership pays for itself!
